I arrived at the park at around 9:40am.
I went straight for Leviathan first since I tend to not ride it once the day gets going and it has a long queue.
Leviathan is one of my least favourite rides to wait for. Riding alone is especially frustrating because the groupers at Leviathan have stopped calling out for single riders. This morning, I had to ask to move ahead of the group in front of me to tell the TWO groupers there, “Hey, I’m a single rider. I’m going to take this seat.”
I could really use a single rider line at Leviathan.
On my way to the other side of the park, I took a ride on Windseeker which had been down for the past couple of weeks.
I made it over to Yukon Striker and got two rides on it.
I made my way over to Behemoth after. The grouper here was really good! He was allowing people to choose where they wanted to sit while also pairing single riders and making sure all rows were filled.
Later in the day I did Skyhawk. I got 20 slow flips… I miss getting it into those out-of-control spins. I can’t do that anymore with the tilt limit on the wings they added last year.
I also noticed a couple of the maple leaf circle logos were peeling off to reveal that the wings were originally painted to have numbers. It must have been a change made very early on since I don’t think this was even seen until now.
KidZfest is happening in Kidzville. There’s a lot of things for kids to do during the event. I did catch some of DooDoo the clown last weekend… He really knows how to hype up a crowd!
I stayed until close so I could do some long exposures. I think they turned out great for not having a tripod with me!
I’m getting more comfortable playing with the controls in manual on my camera.
For some reason, the projections on the mountain during Starlight Spectacular were so faded tonight. I normally have problems recording video of the show even with brighter projections so I decided to give up recording it to take some pictures instead.
It was a nice full day at the park.
I had the pork belly with noodles at Mess Hall.
Traditionally Hakka pork belly is cut into roughly 1/2″ slices and has a lot of fat on it. This just seemed like thinly cut pork. I’m not complaining but I don’t really think it actually is what is advertised.
I also had the same issue with the food as I did the first time trying Mess Hall… The food is not served as hot as I would like it to be.
I guess Marketplace has become the tradition whenever I do full days at the park.
The food was better than last time. There were more staff as well to clear tables. I’m looking forward to doing it again sometime.
