I arrived at the park at around 9:30am. I had already forgotten that there was Early Ride Times every day this long weekend so I made my way over to Yukon Striker to see if I could still take advantage.
I got to the ride to see the single rider line was already quite lengthy. I got one ride on it by the time the park opened for the day.
It was Season Passholder Appreciation Weekend at the park this long weekend, with deals on games, food, and merch. The 50% off discount at several merch stores was definitely appreciated as I ended up picking up a Yukon Striker nanocoaster on Monday. More on that later on…
International Street now plays an international playlist of songs, with most of them being in languages other than English. I really like it.
Shockwave was running so great that I took a couple back-to-back rides on it. It only reversed direction once so it kept going around longer, keeping the speeds and chances for stalls and flips high!
I was tempted on picking up one of these Behemoth shirts but realized bright yellow might be too loud for me. I really wish they wouldn’t ignore the Paramount-era flat rides on these shirts – I would pick up a Sledge Hammer one in an instant.
I had the southwest burger from Coasters… Unfortunately, this was the first instance of having a bad one of these. The burger was overcooked and dried out. Still edible though… It hasn’t deterred me from having one again.
I had the chicken souvlaki from Backlot Cafe. Amazing meal!

I arrived at the park at around 9:30am again. It was Behemoth ERT this morning. It was a fireworks day so I was ready to brace for crowds.
I did Psyclone first which is always a nice way to start the day… That’s the way I used to start my day every visit back in the mid-2000’s.
I got on a bunch of my favourites and was still out the door by 1pm.
I had the veggie lasagna from Backlot Cafe because they didn’t have the meal lasagna ready yet. I actually enjoy both varieties the same. I really like the cream-based sauce they used in the vegetarian lasagna.

I arrived at the park just a few minutes into Leviathan ERT. My first couple of rides were a walk-on. I waited in line for one more, before hitting Spinovator and then sitting out until the park opened at 10am.
I made my way over to the other side of the park to Behemoth, where I hopped between seats four times before having to leave the station. I’m not much of a marathon rider these days with Behemoth.
I then moved on to the last B&M, where it went down just as I was about to board. After a few test cycles, it went back up and we were off.
I’m not really sure what determines this but Shockwave switched back to the other cycle sequence where it changes direction two times instead of just once. With the additional switch in direction, it goes in each direction for less time, killing the momentum. It’s still a very fun ride but I much prefer the single change in direction with more rotations in each direction.
I went looking for the Yukon Striker nanocoaster in one of the stores running the 50% off promo for passholders. I found them in the CW Store at the front gate but was disspointed to find the bin in disarray. The majority of the boxes were opened with loose parts sitting in the bin. I picked out the box that weighed the most and seemed the cleanest. Luckily, I went home and assembled it without any issues.
As much as I like picking things up on my own, maybe they should start keeping these behind the counter like the other parks do.
I got the burrito bowl from Backlot Cafe. Nice and filling!
I had gone to La Cantina to get the same thing but for some reason they make you chose between lettuce or rice, and you can only top it with three things. I don’t get why it had to be so complicated there so I cancelled it mid-order and waited for Backlot to open at noon. At Backlot, I simply say “everything” or say yes to virtually everything as they go down the line. You also get a side of nacho chips there.
I got the butter chicken from Backlot for my second meal.
